We will Participate in 9th Annual FDOT Mobility Week
October 21, 2024
We will participate in the Florida Department of Transportation Mobility Week from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2.
We will host or support events throughout the week highlighting FDOT’s grassroots effort to promote awareness of safe multimodal transportation choices.
Oct. 29 will have lots of activities throughout the region. All rides will be fare-free for bus, NeighborLink and SunRail services on Try Transit Day. This will be an unlimited opportunity for current and potential riders to try LYNX and SunRail transportation options and save money on daily travel.
FDOT will once again host a multimodal workshop in the LYNX Central Station (LCS) 2nd floor open space room, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. highlighting first/last mile connections for transit travel. Participants will be split into groups and ride LYMMO from Orlando City Hall to LYNX Central Station followed by an interactive session where they can plan future services. Those interested in participating may sign up at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2024-multimodal-workshop-from-doorstep-to-destination-tickets-1028090264657.
The annual safety fair will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the LCS terminal where local agencies will be handing out information to help passengers travel safely throughout the tri-county region.
Oct. 30 MetroPlan Orlando will be hosting their annual The Blind Experience. LYNX will be participating in the 9:30 a.m. event at the Orlando Police Department. This event will help raise awareness and highlight the challenges those living with blindness and visual impairment face while navigating public transportation system.
On Nov. 1 there will be a session on mobility options for seniors sponsored by AARP in the LCS 2nd floor open space room, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This activity will focus on teaching seniors and their caretakers about the different mobility options here in Central Florida.
